I have several post production projects taking shape and I’m happy about that….after so many months in the field doing location audio I am really ready to get back in the mix/design chair……
In preparation I am going to go ahead and go to Leopard…..changing the OS is always a gamble…..but ProTools 8 is coming and Digidesign is going to bait me into a purchase, AGAIN, and I’m using this to prompt my Leopard transition….
Finally Protools is dealing with their incredible lack of true post production support for LE…sort of. The lack of included features in LE is a joke. No MP3 import, no surround, no OMF support without buying an expensive “toolkit”…..well, the very expensive toolkit is still a must, but at least we are getting surround out of it…..jeez!
I have an 002 that has been modified by Black Lion Audio and it sounds great! MIxing and doing sound design in the home studio in surround on LE has not been possible before now. That has meant an unnecessary limitation on my ability to work on my larger projects at home in surround before going to the big rooms for final mix…but not any more…..
I guess I have to swallow for Digi then cough up the 2K….
